Born at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare (TMH) and a local from Gadsden County, Jared Cotton is rooted in our community. He joined the TMH family in 2014 as a Patient Transporter in our Transportation Services department and, with hard work, determination and a passion for helping others, he capitalized on the opportunities to grow his career.
Our Transportation Services department plays a vital role in ensuring patients get to their appointments, rooms or procedures on time within the hospital. This is an excellent department to get your foot in the door, learn about healthcare operations and explore all the of the different types of roles and teams it takes to support the organization.
“Being surrounded by professional individuals and learning from them really inspired me,” shared Jared. “TMH helped mold me to be the young professional that I am and accelerated my personal growth. Everyone should have a vision of who they want to be in three, five even ten years from now so they can continue to strive for a better version of themselves.”
Today, Jared serves as the Assistant Director of Health Information Management Services, where he leads and manages the Chart Completion team responsible for document processing, chart analysis and coding. He believes in giving back by advocating for patients to receive and understand their medical information so they can be more informed about the healthcare services they receive – and this passion motivates him to keep growing every day.
“Tallahassee Memorial is continuing to experience growth and with growth comes opportunity. We are enhancing our culture to better serve our colleagues for their individual growth within the organization. Joining TMH will be an experience you will not forget.”
